Parvalux Electric Motors Ltd – the UK’s foremost manufacturer of fractional horsepower AC & DC geared motors and drive solutions – has a rich history spanning over 75 years. Since 1961, when it relocated to the Bournemouth and Poole area, it has expanded to three local production sites. Acquired by Swiss motor manufacturer Maxon in 2018, Parvalux has experienced significant investment.

In 2023, Parvalux inaugurated Parvalux House, a £30-million project aimed at creating a state-of-the-art, Net Zero centre spanning 14,000m². This initiative underscores the company’s commitment to future expansion and its dedication to the local community.

Operating from its cutting-edge production facility, Parvalux exports numerous geared motor solutions to OEMs globally, serving markets such as Industrial Automation, Materials Handling, and Building Automation. Its products find applications in various sectors, including Stairlifts, Automatic Door Openers, Rail and Marine Wiper Motors, and Caravan Movers. Parvalux's sales operations benefit from support provided by a global subsidiary network within the Maxon group.

As a manufacturer, Parvalux actively promotes STEM careers in the local area through initiatives like Parvalux Sparks, engaging with schools, colleges, and universities. Additionally, the company runs an apprenticeship program, emphasising the importance of encouraging a skilled local workforce. Apprenticeship roles offer individuals the opportunity to acquire new skills, complemented by training at institutions like Bournemouth and Poole College or through online providers.
