Health Sciences University
Established in 1965, Health Sciences University stands as a leading provider of health sciences higher education. With over 50 years of dedication to musculoskeletal health and wellbeing, the college has consistently pioneered advancements in the field. Its specialised institution offers a diverse range of programmes spanning chiropractic, radiology, rehabilitation, physiotherapy, sports psychology, and more recent additions such as speech and language therapy, podiatry, dietetics, and occupational therapy.
At the heart of HSU’s mission is the transformation of lives through health sciences education and research. As the inaugural chiropractic training provider in Europe, it conducts over 40,000 clinic visits annually. Recognised for its excellence, HSU was granted Taught Degree Awarding Powers and became Health Sciences University in 2024, merging with the University College of Osteopathy in London.
In 2020, HSU received £2.7 million in funding from the Dorset LEP to construct its state-of-the-art Integrated Rehabilitation Centre. Since its opening in October 2022, this facility has provided patients with top-tier care delivered by a dedicated multidisciplinary clinical team.
Furthermore, in 2023, HSU launched the Centre for Workforce and Systems Innovation, dedicated to addressing workforce challenges in healthcare through innovative strategies and evidence-based policies. By collaborating closely with stakeholders, including the NHS, NHS Dorset, and various private, voluntary, and independent providers, HSU aims to enhance healthcare delivery and improve patient outcomes.
