AECC University College

Established in 1965, AECC University College stands as a leading provider of health sciences higher education. With over 50 years of dedication to musculoskeletal health and wellbeing, the college has consistently pioneered advancements in the field. Its specialised institution offers a diverse range of programmes spanning chiropractic, radiology, rehabilitation, physiotherapy, sports psychology, and more recent additions such as speech and language therapy, podiatry, dietetics, and occupational therapy.

At the heart of AECC’s mission is the transformation of lives through health sciences education and research. As the inaugural chiropractic training provider in Europe, it conducts over 40,000 clinic visits annually. Recognised for its excellence, AECC was granted Taught Degree Awarding Powers and attained University College status in 2017.

In 2020, AECC received £2.7-million in funding from the Dorset LEP to construct its state-of-the-art Integrated Rehabilitation Centre. Since its opening in October 2022, this facility has provided patients with top-tier care delivered by a dedicated multidisciplinary clinical team.

Furthermore, in 2023, AECC launched the Centre for Workforce and Systems Innovation, dedicated to addressing workforce challenges in healthcare through innovative strategies and evidence-based policies. By collaborating closely with stakeholders, including the NHS, NHS Dorset, and various private, voluntary, and independent providers, AECC aims to enhance healthcare delivery and improve patient outcomes.
